Robert E. “Bob” Belthoff, 90, of New Milford, died peacefully on December 27, 2018. Predeceased by his beloved wife of 62 years, Ruth (nėe Murphy). Loving father of eleven children and their spouses: Mary Goble of New Milford; Mike Belthoff and late wife June of New Milford; Tom Belthoff and wife Liz of Oradell; Patricia Weindorf and husband Gary of Point Pleasant; Kathy Lane and husband Roger of Wyckoff; Peter Belthoff and wife Lisa of Oradell; Matt Belthoff and wife Mary of Wyckoff; Donna Dering and husband Dennis of Stuart, FL; Alan Belthoff and wife Beth-Ann of Cypress, TX; Christopher Belthoff and wife Kelly of Danvers MA; and Alice Belthoff of Hackensack. Cherished grandfather of 23 loving grandchildren: Sandra Capitanello (Jim); Brian Belthoff (Laurie); Jennifer Belthoff; Bobby Belthoff (Erika); Tim Belthoff; Katie McCarten (JP); Meaghan Belthoff; Tommy Belthoff (Kristen); Kevin Belthoff; Connor Belthoff; Christopher Weindorf (Sara); Craig Weindorf (Karen); Penny Hoeppner (Matt); Michelle Burgess (Devin); Caterina DeKovessey (Maxx); PJ Belthoff; Gaberiella Belthoff; Natalie Belthoff; Dennis Dering; Emily Belthoff; Grace Belthoff; Kyrstin Belthoff; and Marisa Belthoff. Also survived by 18 beautiful great-grandchildren: Julianna and Jake Capitanello; Hannah, Luke and Logan Belthoff; Abigail and Owen Belthoff; Lorenzo Belthoff; Shea and Cullen McCarten; Cruz and London Weindorf; Skylar Weindorf; Lily and Kyle Burgess; and Chase, Brynn and Reagan Hoeppner. Survived also by dear brother Richard Belthoff. Missed by dear friend and four-legged guardian Finn. Bob was born in Teaneck, NJ to the late Mary C. (nėe Ripple) and Ernest F. Belthoff, and grew up in Ridgefield Park where he met his wife Ruth. Bob attended Seton Hall University on the G.I. Bill and earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting. Bob was employed by Bendix-Allied Corp for 42 years before retiring. Bob served his country proudly as a U.S. Marine. He was also a long standing member of New Milford-Teaneck Elks Lodge 2290.

Bob enjoyed a good poker game and loved to win. He was a diehard New York Yankees fan and never missed watching or listening to a game. He enjoyed spending time with his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and friends. You could often find him at his favorite spots, Roberto’s restaurant and the River Edge Diner.

Funeral Mass Friday, January 4 th , 11 AM, St. Joseph R.C. Church, Oradell. Entombment St. Joseph Cemetery, Hackensack. Visitation Thursday, January 3 rd , 4-9 PM at the Beaugard-McKnight Funeral Home, 869 Kinderkamack Rd., River Edge. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Bob’s memory to Warrior Canine Connection, 14934 Schaeffer Rd., Boyds, MD 20841.
