Olga Pimentel, 91, of River Edge, New Jersey, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Monday, February 15, 2021. Olga was the beloved wife of the late Leonardo Pimentel, loving mother to her sons, Leonard and Andre, mother-in-law to their wives Darlene and Doreen, and grandmother to Nicolas and Christopher. She was also a devoted daughter and sister who cared for both her late mother, Virgilia Vallejo, and her late sister, Haydee Belmonte, in their final years.
Born on the 10th of November 1929 in Havana, Cuba, Olga came to America with her husband Leonardo in 1960 to build a better life for herself and her family. She was the first of the two to land a job, offering to work for free for the first week to prove her worth. Once settled, Olga and Leonardo devoted much of their time and income to helping family and friends escape Cuba. They would spend almost a decade helping others in this way before deciding to grow their family.
A delightful and kindhearted soul who always put others before herself, Olga leaves behind countless friends and family who will miss her dearly.
In light of today’s health concerns, there will not be an open memorial service. The family knows you are with them in spirit. Please feel free to leave your thoughts and memories on this memorial page. In lieu of flowers, contributions to the Fisher Center for Alzheimer’s Research Foundation (www.alzinfo.org) or the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation (www.pulmonaryfibrosis.org) would be appreciated.
