Lawrence A. Guarino, 86, born in Newark, formerly of Union, NJ, passed away Thursday, March 26, 2020, surrounded by his loving family. He was a man of great faith; he is survived by his beloved wife of 56 years Ann Dorothy (nee Olejarczyk).  Cherished children, Dr. Lawrence Guarino (Caroline), James Guarino (Heidi), Theresa Guarino – Smith (James) and Lauretta Guarino.  Pop-Pop will be sadly missed by his adoring grandchildren, James, Lorenzo, Luca, and Leonardo.  He also leaves to mourn his passing his brother Vincent (Barbara). Besides his family his greatest joy was being an educator, he was Assistant Director of Physical Education, teacher and gymnastic coach in Newark for 45 years. His former students still come up to his children to tell them how much of an impact “Mr. G.” was in their lives.  Till the day he died, he was quick with his wit followed by a smile and his laugh was infectious. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. All services are private.
