Joseph DiMasso, 88, of River Edge, NJ (formerly of New York, NY), died peacefully on July 17, 2020. Beloved husband of 65 years to Florinda (née Cialone). Devoted father of Josephine (Paul) Florio, Tony (Sheila) DiMasso, Joseph (Sue) DiMasso, John (Jane) DiMasso. Cherished grandfather of Fred and Ellie, Joseph, Michael, Christina, Joseph, Johnny, Elisabeth, Shane, Jack, Brett. Dear brother of Rosalie Russo, Mary Armen, Christopher and Anthony DiMasso. Predeceased by his granddaughter, Maria Florio, and his brother, John DiMasso.
Joseph was born in New York City to Josephine (née DiMeglio) and Anthony DiMasso. Joseph was employed for 35 years with the New York City Department of Sanitation and a member of Local #444, retiring as the union President.
The Funeral Mass will be celebrated Tuesday, July 21st, 10 AM at St. Peter the Apostle R.C. Church, River Edge. All who wish to attend the mass are asked to gather directly at the church. Entombment to follow at George Washington Memorial Park, Paramus. Visiting Monday, July 20th, 4-8 PM at the Beaugard-McKnight Funeral Home, 869 Kinderkamack Road, River Edge.
