Gerard “Jerry” Esposito, 82, of North Haledon (formerly of River Edge) entered into eternal life on January 16, 2025. Born in Brooklyn NY, where he lived until he was 12 and moved to New Milford NJ. He was the son of Charles and Angelina (Manzolillo) Esposito and brother to Charles (Mary) Esposito. Predeceased by his wife, MaryJean (née Reinhart) (2009). Surviving are his children, Sarah (Keith) Manz and Ryan Esposito, his grandchildren, Austin, Kaitlyn, Kara, Ashley, Bradley, Niya, Lola and Luna, and his many nieces and nephews especially Patti, Michael, Keith and Craig Reinhart. Also survived by his fiancée, Sherry Busino and her daughter, Mollie Busino.

Jerry was a shop and computer teacher at Maywood Middle school for 44 years where he made so many lifelong friends and memories during his time there. Jerry had a long time love of running, doing many races with his favorite being the Marine Corps Marathon. For years he was a staple on the River Edge roads with everyone honking and waving as they passed. Jerry also loved reading and within the past few years started a book club in the neighborhood where he lived.

Jerry was warm, gentle, caring, and was always there for anyone that needed advice and comfort. There was not a stranger that didn’t love Jerry. His infectious personality and humor just drew people to him. Jerry’s laugh always brought warmth and joy to everyone around him. Jerry will be missed by everyone that had the great opportunity to be a part of his amazing life.
