Julie M. Challener (née Soltes), 63, of Dumont, NJ, passed away peacefully on May 20, 2022. Beloved wife of Robert Challener. Devoted mother of Robert Challener, Courtney Challener, Thomas Challener and his wife Maria, and Dillon Challener. Cherished grandmother of Shane Marrero, Hadley and Brody. Dear sister of John and Andrew Soltes, and Patricia Lezette, wonderful aunt to many nieces and nephews.
Julie was born in Teaneck, NJ to Rita (née Fitzpatrick) and John Soltes. She was a loving sister, wife, and grandmother. Julie enjoyed camping, bird watching, and flowers. She especially enjoyed trips to Newport, Rhode Island and spending summers in the Adirondacks.
Family and friends are welcome to celebrate Julie’s life on Monday, May 23rd, 2-4 & 7-9 PM at the Beaugard-McKnight Funeral Home, 869 Kinderkamack Road, River Edge. Funeral Mass Tuesday, May 24th, 9:30 AM at St. Mary’s R.C. Church, Dumont. Interment to follow at Maryrest Cemetery, Mahwah. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Julie’s memory to the American Cancer Society.
