John Durie McFarlane, 82, of Highland Lakes, New Jersey, died Sunday, July 16, 2023 at the Oakland Rehab and Health Care in Oakland, New Jersey.  He was born September 19, 1940 in Hasbrouck Heights, New Jersey.  Before retiring, he worked as a paving contractor and co-owner of McFarlane Paving. Beloved father of David McFarlane and his wife Sandra McFarlane, Barbara and her husband Thomas Verga, and Richard and his wife Amy McFarlane.  Dear grandfather of Megan McFarlane, Thomas McFarlane, Jessica Verga, Madeleine McFarlane, and Benjamin McFarlane.  Survived by one brother, Peter McFarlane, and four sisters, Sandra
McFarlane, Barbara Hallahan, Cathy McFarlane, and Joan Fairburn. 

Family will receive visitors at the Beaugard-McKnight Funeral Home at 869 Kinderkamack Rd, River Edge, NJ on Friday, July 21, 2023, from 9 am to 11 am with burial at 11:30 am at Hackensack Cemetery, 289 Hackensack Avenue Hackensack, New Jersey at the Durie Family Plot.
