Daniel E. Auriemma, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away surrounded by the love of his family.
Daniel was the devoted husband of Barbara Auriemma, with whom he shared a lifetime of love, family, and wonderful memories. Together, they especially enjoyed spending their winters in Florida, where Daniel could pursue one of his favorite pastimes—fishing.
Born to the late Daniel W. Auriemma and Annette Auriemma, Daniel attended Muhlenberg College for two years, where he played football, before beginning a long and successful career. He served as President of Fairview Tire Company, dedicating many years to the family business before retiring in 2002.
Above all else, Daniel was a family man. He was the loving father of Deborah DiMonda and her husband, Frank DiMonda; Douglas Auriemma and his wife, Tricia Auriemma; and Daniel W. Auriemma and his wife, Jacqueline Auriemma. He was also the proud grandfather of seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Nothing brought him greater happiness than spending time with his family and watching his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren grow.
Daniel was predeceased by his sister, Dolores Balkau Elder.
In retirement, Daniel enjoyed the simple things that meant the most to him—fishing, winters in Florida with Barbara, and time spent surrounded by his grandchildren and family.
Daniel will also be remembered for his generous spirit. He truly loved helping people. Whether it was family, a friend, an employee, or someone who simply needed a hand, Daniel was happiest when he could do something for someone else. His kindness, generosity, and devotion to his family will be remembered by all who knew and loved him.
His greatest legacy is the family he loved, the people he helped, and the many lives he touched along the way.
He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Daniel’s memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
