Jean M O’Connell passed away peacefully at the age of 95 on July 11, 2024, while residing in Belvidere, NJ at the Mire Vie (formally The Chelsea at Brookfield).
Born in Bronxville NY in 1929, Jean moved to River Edge NJ as a child where she and her late husband George raised their four children.
Jean held several positions as an active member of many organizations within the community, Past President for the American Legion Auxiliary, Post #226, Past President of the River Edge Junior Women’s Club, member of the River Edge Women’s Club and Past President of the River Edge Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary. She retired to Leisure Knoll, Manchester NJ, where she enjoyed traveling and club activities.
Jean is survived by her children George and daughter-in-law Judy, Bill and daughter-in-law Cathy, Kathy and son- in-law Dave; Grandchildren Heather O’Connell and fiancé AJ, Eric O’Connell, Austin O’Connell and wife Jenny, Sean Martin and wife Becca, and Kellyann Martin; Great-Grandchildren Henry and Whitney O’Connell, and Colin Martin, Brother Michael Pritchard and sister in law Rita. Jean was predeceased by her husband George, son Dennis and brother Robert Pritchard.
Visiting Thursday, July 18th, 11 AM to 1 PM at the Beaugard-McKnight Funeral Home, 869 Kinderkamack Road, River Edge. A prayer service will immediately follow. Interment at George Washington Memorial Park, Paramus.
