Gail E. Santora-Ferrer, age 59, from Dumont, NJ, passed away on May
28th, 2022. Gail is survived by her husband, Willie Ferrer Jr., children
Alexander and Emily Ferrer, her mother Joan Santora, her siblings,
Mark and Brian Santora, Claire “Joan” Liang, and her husband Michael,
Janice Wingfield and her husband Bill, Alane Steinacker and her
husband Mark. She was also survived by many loving nieces and
nephews.
Gail was born in Suffern, NY to Joan (née Rubar) and Pascal Santora.
She earned a Master’s degree from Baruch College New York in
International Business. She was employed with the Federal Reserve
Bank of New York as a Bank Supervisor for over 30 years. After
retirement, Gail was a teacher’s assistant for a first-grade class at Grant
Elementary School in Dumont, NJ.
Gail had many hobbies and interests such as painting, gardening,
reading, cycling, hiking, yoga, and watching shows with her husband.
Her passion for yoga drove her to become a certified yoga instructor as
well as start her journey to become a Reiki Master. Gail also enjoyed
watching her kids grow up by attending their plays, going to their
sporting events, volunteering at fundraising events, and everything in
between.
Gail was very involved in Dumont. At Selzer School, she was a class
mom for multiple years, a Girl Scout leader for her daughter’s troop, a
Cub Scout assistant for her son’s troop, and was an active member of the
PTA committees. Outside of her kid’s school, she was active as a team
mom for her kid’s sports teams and even maintained a garden plot for the
Dumont Arboretum on West Shore Ave.
Visiting time is Thursday, June 2nd, 2022, from 3-7 PM at the
Beaugard-McKnight Funeral Home, 869 Kinderkamack Road, River
Edge. Funeral Mass will be on Friday, June 3rd, 2022, at 10 AM in St.
John’s R.C. Church, Bergenfield. Interment is at Westwood Cemetery.
