William E. Donovan, 87, of River Edge, NJ, passed away peacefully on May 22, 2025.  Predeceased by his beloved wife, Joan (née Waldron) (1998). Survived by his brother, Paul Donovan. 

Bill was born in Daytona Beach, Florida to Paul and Dorothy Donovan.  Bill served in the United States Army and he graduated from Georgetown University and New York University School of Law. Bill was a partner at Carter Ledyard & Milburn in New York. A parishioner of St. Peter the Apostle R.C. Church, Bill was an avid reader and traveler who was a kind and beloved neighbor to many. 

Visitation Wednesday, May 28th, 10:00 AM to 12:00 Noon at the Beaugard-McKnight Funeral Home, 869 Kinderkamack Road, River Edge.  A Funeral Mass to follow at 12:30 PM at St. Peter the Apostle R.C. Church, 445 Fifth Avenue, River Edge.  Cremation is private.
