New Milford-Kinsey Lavelle born Bronx; NY 1947 departed suddenly July 27, 2021. Kinsey moved to NJ and attended St. Peter The Apostle elementary school in River Edge, then transferred to River Dell Junior/Senior HS in Oradell. He will be remembered as a free spirit who was well liked by all who were lucky enough to have made his acquaintance. He had a fondness for cars and attended many races with friends at Daytona, Fl and in The Poconos. Kinsey proudly served in the Army during the Viet Nam Conflict as a Military Policeman stationed at Ft. Dix NJ. Kinsey enjoyed a 30-career working for “Ma Bell”. He had a curiosity for the unusual, training for the day his spiritual mind would vacate his physical body. He came close several times in the past. He enjoyed psychedelic music in particular The Doors, attending many concerts when the group was anywhere near the metropolitan area. Kinsey was a “good guy” who made friends easily and always had a quirky story or joke in his bag of tricks.
His parents George and Eleanor and a sister, who passed away at the age of 6, predeceased him. Kinsey leaves behind many treasured friends who mourn his passing.
Funeral Mass Thursday, August 5th, 10 AM, at St. Peter The Apostle Church, 445 5th Ave., River Edge. Interment St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Hackensack. Visiting Wednesday, August 4th, 4-7 PM at the Beaugard McKnight Funeral Home, 869 Kinderkamack Rd., River Edge. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
