Obituary

It is with great sadness that the family of Josephine Manolio Swift announces her passing. Born on October 1, 1934, to Yolanda and Joseph Manolio, Josephine made the most of life through spending time with her beloved husband, travelling the world, and creating art. At the young age of 14, Josephine met her high school sweetheart, Daniel Hayden Swift. They married shortly after and went on to create a beautiful family with their three children, Danny, Donna, and Joseph. Josephine was always immersed in the community and surrounded by friends. She loved to swim at the community pool and was at church every Sunday. She filled her life with opportunities to teach oil painting and make her own art. Her love for travel with her childhood and lifetime friend Joan “Joanie” R. Schmidt took her all over the world to places like Africa, Italy, and the Mediterranean Sea. She is survived by her three children Dan Swift (Kathy), Donna Weaver (Rich), Joseph Swift (Noelle), grandchildren Katherine Haley (Danny), Elizabeth Allsopp (Cole), Grace Weaver, Christina Swift, Danny Swift, Peter Swift, great grandchildren, Poppy and Penny Haley and Vivien and Remy Allsopp. To identify all of those who were a part of Josephine’s life would be an impossible task as she was constantly surrounded by love and support.

Visitation Monday, August 21st, 9:30 AM – 11:45 AM at the Beaugard-McKnight Funeral Home, 869 Kinderkamack Road, River Edge.  Funeral Mass 12:15 PM at St. Joseph R.C. Church, Oradell.  Interment George Washington Memorial Park, Paramus.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Alzheimer’s Association are appreciated.
