Obituary

James V. Aquilino, 82, a resident of Teaneck, NJ, passed away on September 10, 2020, at University Hospital in Newark, NJ, due to complications from surgery.  He was the loving husband of the late Ellene (George) Aquilino.

Born and raised in Mt. Vernon, NY, James was the youngest of three children, the only son of the late Harold and Madeline (Muscolino) Aquilino. He graduated from A. B. Davis High School and New York University, and served in the U.S. Army at Tooele Army Depot in Utah.  He spent most of his long career as a chemist and quality assurance professional with Proctor & Gamble, first at Richardson-Vicks in Mt. Vernon and Shelton, CT, and later at Clairol in Stamford, CT.  He was devoted to his family, and enjoyed Sunday gravy, white wine spritzers, dancing, and playing tennis, bridge, and Uno.

Predeceased by sister and brother-in-law Eleanor and Edward Bruno, he is survived by his children Joy (Robert) O’Brien and James (Susan) Aquilino, Jr.; grandchildren Maria O’Brien and Nicholas and Vincent Aquilino; an uncle, Norman Aquilino; sister Camille (Ralph) Garofano; in-laws Andrea and Anthony Bruni and Camille and Peter Piller; and many beloved cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
