James P. Murphy, 57, of River Edge, NJ, passed away on May 28, 2024 surrounded by his family. Loving husband of 34 years to Jody (née Magill). Devoted father of Justin and his wife Kylie Murphy. Cherished grandpa of Cameron and Zoey. Dear brother of William and Michael Murphy, Donna Schuele, Barbara Crowley and Lori Kowalewski.
James was born in Jersey City to Elizabeth (née Hirschel) and William Murphy. He and his family have resided in River Edge for 27 years. James was a member of the River Edge Police Reserves for over 20 years, and loved boating and fishing.
Visitation Friday, May 31st, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Beaugard-McKnight Funeral Home, 869 Kinderkamack Road, River Edge. Funeral Mass Saturday, June 1st, 10:00 AM at St. Peter the Apostle R.C. Church, River Edge. Interment to follow at George Washington Memorial Park, Paramus.
